Welcome to Bara House. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Bara House website, class marketplace, accounts, communications, teacher listings, class enrollment features, and related services.
These Terms apply to all users of Bara House, including parents, guardians, teachers, students, and visitors.
By accessing or using Bara House, creating an account, applying to teach, enrolling in a class, submitting a form, or purchasing a class or membership, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use Bara House.
1. About Bara House
Bara House is an online class marketplace that helps parents and guardians discover educational classes and connect with independent teachers.
Bara House may provide tools for:
- Browsing classes
- Creating parent or guardian accounts
- Creating teacher profiles
- Applying to teach
- Enrolling students in classes
- Processing payments
- Hosting or linking to online class sessions
- Communicating about classes, enrollment, and support
Unless otherwise stated, teachers are independent providers and are not employees of Bara House.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, purchase classes, apply to teach, or otherwise enter into an agreement with Bara House.
Parents and guardians are responsible for any child or student who participates in Bara House classes through their account.
Children may only participate in classes with parent or guardian involvement and permission.
3. Parent and Guardian Responsibilities
Parents and guardians are responsible for:
- Creating and managing their own account
- Providing accurate enrollment information
- Selecting classes appropriate for their child
- Supervising their child’s use of Bara House as appropriate
- Ensuring their child follows class rules and safety expectations
- Communicating with Bara House or teachers when needed
- Reviewing class descriptions, schedules, pricing, and requirements before enrolling
- Maintaining the confidentiality of their account login information
Parents and guardians acknowledge that online classes may vary by teacher, class format, student group, and subject matter.
Bara House does not guarantee a specific educational outcome, academic improvement, skill level, or result from any class.
4. Student Participation
Students are expected to participate respectfully and appropriately.
Students may not:
- Harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate others
- Use inappropriate, obscene, discriminatory, or abusive language
- Share personal contact information during class
- Record classes without permission
- Disrupt class sessions
- Share class links with unauthorized users
- Impersonate another person
- Engage in unsafe, illegal, or inappropriate conduct
Bara House may remove a student from a class or restrict access to the platform if the student or parent violates these Terms or creates a safety concern.
5. Teacher Responsibilities
Teachers using Bara House are responsible for:
- Providing accurate profile information
- Submitting truthful application materials
- Creating accurate class descriptions
- Teaching classes as described
- Starting and ending classes on time whenever reasonably possible
- Communicating professionally with families and Bara House
- Following Bara House safety, conduct, and content standards
- Maintaining appropriate boundaries with students
- Complying with applicable laws and regulations
- Protecting student privacy
- Avoiding inappropriate one-on-one contact outside approved class or platform channels
Teachers may be required to complete identity verification, background checks, onboarding steps, or other screening requirements before teaching.
Approval to teach on Bara House may be granted, denied, suspended, or revoked at Bara House’s discretion.
Teacher-specific terms, payout rules, cancellation rules, and additional obligations may be provided in a separate Teacher Agreement. If there is a conflict between these Terms and the Teacher Agreement, the Teacher Agreement controls for teacher-specific matters.
6. Teacher Status
Teachers are independent providers and are not employees, agents, partners, franchisees, or representatives of Bara House.
Teachers are responsible for their own taxes, licenses, insurance, professional obligations, equipment, internet connection, and teaching materials unless otherwise stated in writing.
Nothing in these Terms creates an employment relationship, joint venture, partnership, or agency relationship between Bara House and any teacher.
7. Class Listings and Availability
Class listings may include information such as:
- Class title
- Description
- Age range
- Schedule
- Price
- Teacher name
- Class format
- Materials needed
- Enrollment limits
- Session or series details
Bara House may edit, reject, remove, or require changes to class listings at any time.
Classes may be canceled, rescheduled, modified, or removed due to teacher availability, enrollment levels, technical issues, safety concerns, policy violations, or other reasons.
Bara House does not guarantee that any specific class, teacher, schedule, or feature will remain available.
8. Payments, Fees, and Billing
Parents or guardians may be required to pay class fees, membership fees, or other charges through Bara House or a third-party payment processor.
By making a purchase, you authorize Bara House or its payment processor to charge the payment method provided for the amount shown at checkout.
Payment processing may be handled by third-party providers such as Stripe. Stripe’s own terms govern its payment processing services.
Bara House may change pricing, fees, memberships, or payment structures at any time. Any changes will apply prospectively unless otherwise stated.
9. Refunds, Credits, and Cancellations
Refunds, credits, and cancellations are governed by Bara House’s Refund and Cancellation Policy, if posted separately.
Bara House may provide refunds or credits in certain circumstances, such as:
- Teacher cancellation
- Class not delivered as scheduled
- Duplicate payment
- Technical or administrative error
- Other situations determined by Bara House
Bara House may decline refunds or credits where:
- A student misses class
- A parent enrolls in the wrong class
- A family does not attend without proper notice
- A student is removed for misconduct
- The refund request falls outside the applicable policy window
- The class was delivered as described
Specific refund rules may vary by class type, session type, membership, promotion, or teacher arrangement.
10. Memberships and Subscriptions
Bara House may offer free or paid memberships.
Memberships may provide access to certain features, account tools, enrollment options, discounts, or other benefits.
If a membership renews automatically, the renewal terms will be presented at checkout or signup. Users are responsible for canceling before the renewal date if they do not want to be charged again.
Bara House may modify, suspend, or discontinue membership features at any time.
11. Background Checks and Safety Screening
Bara House may require teachers to complete identity verification, background checks, or other safety screening steps.
Bara House may use third-party providers for these services.
While screening is an important safety step, it does not guarantee that every risk can be identified or prevented. Parents and guardians remain responsible for determining whether a class and teacher are appropriate for their child.
Bara House may suspend, remove, or deny a teacher based on screening results, incomplete verification, safety concerns, policy violations, user reports, or other relevant factors.
12. Online Class Safety
Users agree to follow Bara House’s safety expectations.
Teachers may not request or encourage students to communicate privately outside approved channels unless specifically permitted by Bara House and appropriate parent or guardian consent has been obtained.
Parents and students should not share sensitive personal information during class, including:
- Home address
- Personal phone number
- Personal email address
- Passwords
- Financial information
- School location
- Private family information
- Unnecessary health information
Bara House may monitor, review, or investigate activity, reports, communications, or class-related concerns when necessary for safety, support, policy enforcement, or legal compliance.
13. Video Sessions and Third-Party Tools
Classes may be hosted through third-party video or classroom tools.
By participating in a class, users understand that third-party tools may process information such as names, audio, video, chat, attendance, technical data, or session activity.
Users are responsible for having the equipment, internet connection, software, and environment needed to participate in online classes.
Bara House is not responsible for interruptions, delays, access issues, or technical failures caused by third-party platforms, internet providers, user devices, or circumstances outside Bara House’s control.
14. User Content
Users may submit, upload, post, or provide content through Bara House, including profiles, bios, class descriptions, images, messages, reviews, comments, forms, and other materials.
You retain ownership of content you submit, but you grant Bara House a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, distribute, modify, and otherwise process that content as needed to operate, promote, improve, and provide the Bara House service.
Users are responsible for ensuring that their content:
- Is accurate
- Does not violate another person’s rights
- Does not contain unlawful, harmful, or inappropriate material
- Does not infringe copyrights, trademarks, privacy rights, publicity rights, or other rights
- Does not mislead users
- Complies with these Terms and Bara House policies
Bara House may remove or modify user content at any time.
15. Reviews, Testimonials, and Feedback
Bara House may allow parents, guardians, students, or teachers to submit reviews, testimonials, ratings, or feedback.
Reviews and testimonials must be truthful, accurate, and based on real experiences. Users may not submit fake reviews, misleading testimonials, or reviews in exchange for undisclosed compensation or incentives.
Bara House may remove reviews or feedback that appear false, abusive, irrelevant, inappropriate, or inconsistent with platform policies.
By submitting feedback, suggestions, or ideas to Bara House, you agree that Bara House may use them without compensation or obligation to you.
16. Prohibited Conduct
Users may not:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
- Use Bara House for fraudulent, deceptive, abusive, or harmful purposes
- Harass, threaten, bully, exploit, or harm another person
- Share inappropriate, obscene, sexually explicit, violent, hateful, discriminatory, or illegal content
- Attempt to bypass account restrictions, payment systems, security features, or access controls
- Scrape, copy, harvest, or misuse platform data
- Reverse engineer or interfere with Bara House systems
- Upload malware, viruses, or harmful code
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent affiliation with an organization
- Use Bara House to recruit users away from the platform without permission
- Contact students outside approved channels
- Collect personal information from children without proper parent or guardian consent
- Record classes without permission
- Use Bara House in a way that creates safety, legal, operational, or reputational risk
Bara House may suspend or terminate access for violations of this section.
17. Intellectual Property
Bara House owns or licenses the website design, branding, logos, graphics, text, software, layouts, features, and other platform materials, except for user-submitted content.
Users may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, or exploit Bara House materials without written permission.
Teachers retain rights to their own original teaching materials unless otherwise agreed in writing. However, teachers grant Bara House the rights necessary to display class listings, promote classes, process enrollments, and operate the platform.
18. Account Suspension or Termination
Bara House may suspend, restrict, or terminate an account or user access at any time if we believe:
- The user violated these Terms
- The user violated another Bara House policy
- The user created a safety concern
- The user provided false or misleading information
- The user failed to complete required verification
- The user engaged in payment abuse, fraud, or chargeback misuse
- The user’s continued access could create legal, operational, reputational, or security risk
Users may stop using Bara House at any time. Account deletion or closure requests may be submitted to Bara House, subject to legal, financial, safety, dispute-resolution, and recordkeeping requirements.
19. Disclaimers
Bara House provides its services on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
Bara House does not guarantee that:
- The service will always be available
- The website will be error-free
- Classes will meet every user’s expectations
- A student will achieve a specific result
- A teacher will be available at all times
- Third-party tools will function without interruption
- All safety risks can be eliminated
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bara House disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.
20. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bara House and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, service providers, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, loss of goodwill, educational outcomes, emotional distress, or other intangible losses.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bara House’s total liability for any claim related to the service will not exceed the amount paid by the user to Bara House for the specific class, membership, or transaction giving rise to the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some limitations may not apply to you.
21. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Bara House and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, service providers, and affiliates from any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising from:
- Your use of Bara House
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any law or regulation
- Your violation of another person’s rights
- Your submitted content
- Your misconduct or negligence
- Your child’s participation in classes, where applicable
- Your teaching services, where applicable
22. Privacy
Your use of Bara House is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
The Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information.
By using Bara House, you agree to the Privacy Policy.
23. Changes to These Terms
Bara House may update these Terms from time to time.
When we update these Terms, we will revise the “Last Updated” date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice, such as by email, account notice, or website notice.
Continued use of Bara House after updated Terms become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
24. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or Bara House will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Missouri, unless another dispute resolution process is required by applicable law or stated in a separate agreement.
