Bara House is a good fit for educators, mentors, and creators who take both learning and safety seriously.
Bara House classes are live, online classes led by the teacher in real time. Students can see, hear, ask questions, participate, and learn alongside the teacher and other students.Classes can be highly interactive or more instructor-led depending on the topic, but the goal is to create a welcoming, engaging experience—not simply have students watch a pre-recorded lesson.
No. Formal teaching certification is not required. We welcome experienced educators, mentors, ministry leaders, professionals, artists, makers, and others with meaningful knowledge or skills to share. Applicants should be able to communicate clearly, work well with children or teens, and meet Bara House’s safety and quality standards.
Teachers will be paid per class session through our payment partner, Stripe. You’ll be able to see your earnings and upcoming payouts in your teacher dashboard.
You choose your class price, schedule, and class size. Teachers receive 70% of class revenue, while Bara House retains a 30% platform fee to support payment processing, platform operations, marketing, safety systems, and teacher support. For example, an $18 class with 10 enrolled students would earn you $126.
The initial application only takes a few minutes to complete. Identity verification and background checks may take a few days, depending on response times.
Yes, as long as you have a reliable internet connection and meet our legal and safety requirements, you can teach from anywhere we’re able to operate.
They can be either! Teachers can offer one-time classes built around a specific topic or experience, or multi-session classes that meet over a series of dates. A one-time class might be something like Make Your First Friendship Bracelet or Intro to Live Audio, while a multi-session class could walk students through building a video game, learning a new skill, or completing a larger project.
No. Homework is not required for Bara House classes. Depending on the class, a teacher may choose to provide an optional activity, project, practice assignment, or something for students to work on between sessions. For many classes, though, everything can happen during the live class itself.
Bara House is currently focused on live online learning, where teachers actively lead classes and interact with students in real time. Teachers may use videos, demonstrations, slides, downloads, or other resources to support their live classes. We are also exploring pre-recorded, self-guided learning options for the future. These would be offered as a separate class format designed specifically for independent learning, rather than simply allowing teachers to upload a library of recorded live classes.
A lot. We want teachers to build classes around what they know, enjoy, and are excited to share.That could mean coding, gaming, art, crochet, bracelet making, organization, cooking concepts, music production, academics, practical skills, hobbies, or something we haven't thought of yet. If you can teach it in an engaging, age-appropriate online format, it may have a place at Bara House. Not every class needs to look the same—and not every class needs to be academic.
No. Bara House is a Christian learning community, but not every class is a Bible class. Teachers can teach subjects ranging from technology and creative skills to hobbies, academics, and practical life skills. What connects Bara House classes is the environment in which they're taught: content and interactions should be consistent with Bara House's Christian values and standards.
